Week 11 - Byzantine Empire - Wonderful Wednesday's

This week we made a mosaic while we studied the Byzantine Empire.  We used various dried beans, Chinet plates and Modge Podge.  We just had the kids come up with their "design" after we showed them some suggested elements unique from Byzantine era Art (such as halo's and crosses) and then had them draw their design in pencil.  Then we brushed on the Modge Podge to make the beans stick and let them design away....my special needs son kept with his love of the alphabet and made a letter C and was very proud of his creation :).
